Tips For Babies, Toddles and Kids Swimming Classes
Coming to the pool prepared can make your child’s swim class smoother, calmer, and far more enjoyable — for both of you. Because our pool at Aquanat is covered, heated to 34–35°C, and designed to feel warm, soft, and welcoming, your child doesn’t need extra layers or sun protection. The more contact their skin has with the water, the more freedom and comfort they experience.
Here are practical tips to help you pack with confidence:

👶 Tips for Baby & Infant Swim Classes
1. Choose a simple, comfy bather
Rash shirts can feel heavy and restrict natural movement in warm water. In our pool they’re unnecessary and may weigh little bodies down. A soft, snug one-piece helps your baby feel the water fully and move freely.
2. Bring a swim nappy
Reusable or disposable — either is fine. A swim nappy keeps the pool hygienic and allows everyone to enjoy their class safely.
3. Two towels
One for wrapping your baby as you exit the pool
One for after your shower. And don’t forget your own towel, too.
4. A familiar comfort item
A dummy, small soft toy, or anything that helps your baby regulate. New environments can be stimulating; something familiar helps babies settle before or after class.
5. A snack or feed for the trip home
Swimming uses a lot of energy. Many babies feel ready for a feed or top-up soon after their lesson.

🧒 Tips for Toddlers & Young Kids
1. Bathers over rash shirts
Less fabric means less drag and easier movement, helping toddlers experience buoyancy, balance, and immersion more naturally.
2. Goggles (optional but helpful)
If your child enjoys looking underwater, goggles can boost confidence and make learning playful. We have spares available, but your child may love having their very own pair — ideally clear, comfortable, and easy to adjust.
3. Towel or hooded towel
A regular towel works well, or choose a hooded zip-up towel if you prefer to shower at home. Toddlers often pre
fer quick transitions, and a hooded towel keeps them warm on the way to the car.
4. A comfort toy for shower time or the ride home
All pool toys and equipment stay at Aquanat so every class can enjoy them. A comfort item from home can help toddlers unwind after a big sensory experience.
5. Dry clothes that are easy to put on
Loose, simple, warm layers are ideal — especially in cooler months or after evening classes.
6. A snack for after class
Swimming builds appetite quickly. A ready-to-go snack helps keep your routine smooth and calm.

1. A comfortable bather
Choose swimwear that allows full movement without excess fabric. Avoid rash shirts unless medically required.
2. Goggles
Clear, comfortable goggles help older children refine skills, explore underwater movement, and stay focused.
3. Hooded towel or robe for a quick exit
If your child prefers to shower at home, a hooded towel is an easy, warm option straight after the pool.
4. Tie back long hair
This improves visibility, comfort, and concentration during class.
5. A small snack and water bottle
Swimming is physically demanding; a quick refuel helps restore energy.
