Swim Nappy Guide: Getting Ready for Your Child's First (and Every) Lesson 🩲

A quick, practical guide to swim nappies for Aquanat families.

Swim nappies play an important role in keeping the pool clean and safe for everyone.

They should be well-fitted and properly sealed to prevent solids from entering the water.

Here's everything you need to know before your lesson:

💧Before Your Lesson

Change into the swim nappy just before your lesson

Bring spares — accidents happen, and it's good to have backup

📜 Getting a Snug, Comfortable Fit

A well-fitted swim nappy makes a big difference to comfort and safety in the water. Here's what to check:

  • Waist: flat with no gaps

  • Legs: elastic sits in the natural crease

  • Finger test: one finger fits comfortably underneath — not two

  • Movement: your baby can move freely without the nappy shifting

Accidents can happen 😅 — don't stress, just let us know straight away so we can manage it safely.

🩱What About Rash Shirts and Extra Layers?

Our indoor pool is maintained at a warm 34–35°C year-round, so additional layers such as rash shirts aren't necessary and can feel heavy in the water. Skin-to-water contact is actually beneficial for your baby's movement and comfort.
